Bronchial Asthma known as Tamak Shvasa in Ayurveda, is a widespread disease affecting 10-18 percentage of the population globally. In some of the cases the disorder is so mild that it is often not recognized. But for others it is an excruciating condition with frequent acute exacerbations of breathlessness and cough. It is very sad that in spite of sophisticated diagnostic procedures and drugs available in modern system of Medicine, the prevalence and mortality is still increasing. Use of some allopathic drugs like Beta antagonists, ACE inhibitors and Aspirin is also linked to precipitation of the attack.
